Welcome to the Swifts Beach Improvement Association (SBIA).

Our Board Members and Officers are dedicated individuals who are passionate about enhancing the Swifts Beach community. Each member brings unique skills and experiences that contribute to our mission of preserving and improving our local environment, while fostering a sense of community among residents and visitors.

Our Mission

The SBIA is committed to advocating for the Swifts Beach area, ensuring it remains a beautiful and welcoming place for all. Our Board Members work tirelessly to maintain the beach, organize community events, and address any issues that may arise, all while promoting sustainable practices.

Meet Our Leadership

The Board consists of volunteers from within the community who have a vested interest in the well-being of Swifts Beach. Each officer plays a vital role in decision-making processes, financial oversight, and program development, helping us serve our community effectively. Our team values open communication and collaboration, striving to involve all members of the community in our initiatives.

Kathy Norris - President

I’ve been coming to Swifts Beach since I was an infant—my grandfather started our family’s annual summer tradition back in 1945. I grew up here making memories with cousins and family, and today I serve on the Fun Committee. I first got involved by helping run the 4th of July Parade and joined the board in 2014. I love how everyone waves and says hi around the neighborhood.

As for fun fact Kathy says "I can’t sing, play an instrument, draw, or dance" — but Amanda insists my true talent is my die‑hard passion for up-cycling anything I can get my hands on.

Amanda Nee - Vice President

Amanda Nee has been a full‑year resident of Swifts Beach since 2016 and now serves as Vice President, bringing her steady, behind‑the‑scenes dedication to supporting events, running kids’ Bingo, and managing hall rentals. A full‑time social worker and mom of four — two out on their own, one in college, and one in high school — she first joined the board thanks to a push from Kathy and quickly became a familiar, reliable presence. Her favorite tradition is Thirsty Thursdays, and she loves that many Swifts events have been going strong for over 50 years.

Fun Fact: Amanda proudly identifies as an "Aldi‑holic".

Richard Foley - Treasurer

I’m a retired Electrical Engineer who has been part of the Wareham and Swifts Beach community for over 40 years. My family spent decades summering here, and our three children grew up swimming at Swifts Beach. I enjoy yard work, home projects, and supporting SBIA as Treasurer, helping with events and hall and grounds maintenance. I love being part of a friendly, hands‑on community.

Fun Fact: Rick enjoy's working with numbers....and the math has to work out EXACTLY.

Terri "securiterri" Mitrano - Secretary

Terri—better known as “Securiterri” thanks to 20+ years in Loss Prevention—has been part of the neighborhood for over a decade and brings her sharp eye and big personality to every event. She now works at Pet Supply Plus, living the dream surrounded by puppies, and is the proud parent of Brody and Bruce Wayne, two dogs everyone knows by bark. When she’s not on dog duty, she’s in the garden chatting with neighbors, taking notes at events, or trailing Amanda and Kathy around the clubhouse. Terri loves having the President right across the street, meeting new people, and all the laughter and friendships Swifts brings.

Fun Fact: Terri can wiggle her ears.

Peggy Foley - Board Member

I grew up spending summers at my parents’ cottage and have now owned my own place at Swifts Beach for 35 years. I enjoy helping with SBIA activities and wanted to be part of all the new events the association has to offer. I love meeting people of all ages.

Fun Fact: Peggy enjoys spending her summers on the beach.

Barbara Brant - Board Member

I grew up spending summers at Swifts Neck, and it always felt like home. When I had the chance to buy a house here, I jumped at it. I love the atmosphere — the friendships, the beach, and the feeling that life moves a little slower. You’ll always see people walking, kids playing, and neighbors stopping to chat. My grandchildren love visiting, whether it’s for a day or a week.

I’m retired after 20 years in Real Estate and 20 years in Social Services. I winter in Florida, but summer in Swifts Beach is where I belong. I handle the SBIA merchandise — ordering, pricing, and selling — and I’m part of the Meat Raffle Team.

Giving back matters to me. I spent countless hours at the clubhouse as a child, and I know our community thrives because people volunteer. I love the laid‑back lifestyle, the get‑togethers, and watching the next generation enjoy this place as much as I did.

Fun Fact: If you know Barbara, she likes to be spontaneous — at the drop of a hat, she's off doing something.

Eileen Searles - Board Member

I’ve been a Swifts Beach homeowner for 15 years and absolutely love it here. I recently retired from my role as a Customer Service Manager, which gives me more time to enjoy the beach, local activities, and everything the Wareham/Cape Cod area offers. Originally from Canton, I raised my children in Brockton before settling into this wonderful community.

I stay active with pickleball, kayaking, socializing, and taking YMCA classes. I help with SBIA activities wherever needed, inspired by the hardworking volunteers who keep our traditions alive. The friendships I’ve made here mean a lot to me, and I’m grateful to be part of such a welcoming community.

Fun Fact: Eileen simply enjoys life.

Joe Legault - Board Member

I’m a full‑time RN and dad of two daughters, and I’ve been a year‑round resident of Swifts Beach for the past eight years—though I’ve been enjoying this community since the early ’90s. I’m the go‑to “techy,” bingo board runner, DJ, and occasional chef, always happy to jump in wherever I’m needed. I love the strong sense of community here and the pride everyone takes in keeping SBIA’s 50+ year traditions alive. It means a lot to help improve the place my kids will grow up in, just like the generation before me did.

Fun Fact: Joe plays the trumpet, and has been doing so since the 4th grade!

Nancy Onofaro - Board Member

I bought my cottage in Wareham in 2020 and quickly wished I’d found Swifts Beach sooner. I love spending weekends here—enjoying the beach, the community, and the friends I’ve made. When I’m not in Wareham, I live in Framingham with my energetic 3‑year‑old Beabull, Sadie.

I joined the SBIA Board to meet people and get involved in the Swifts Beach community. Living so close to the beach is wonderful, but it’s the friendly, fun people who make it truly special.

Fun Fact: I have four grandkids and four step‑grandkids, including my daughter’s identical 2‑year‑old twins, who are nearly impossible to tell apart.

Joe Schepis - Bio Coming After Breakfast

Joe is a retired Italian with a thick accent, a love for tools, and a habit of cooking breakfast for anyone within a 50‑foot radius. He’ll get his official bio done right after he finishes eating, fixes something that wasn’t broken, and tells one more “back in my day” story.

ETA: After coffee.
